What We Do
Sorting and Grading
At Nurusafe Packhouse, we sort and grade each batch of produce to select only items that meet our quality standards. We separate them by size, ripeness, and appearance to maintain consistency and ensure that every product delivered is fresh and well-prepared for the market
Cleaning &Treatment
Our washing process gently removes soil, debris, and unwanted residues from every harvest, keeping your produce clean and safe for handling. We use reliable, modern equipment that protects freshness and maintains the natural quality of each fruit and vegetable.
Advanced Cold Storage
Our cold-storage rooms keep produce at the right temperature to maintain freshness and slow natural deterioration. With stable cooling and proper humidity control, fruits and vegetables stay firm, nutritious, and ready for market for a longer period
Packing and Labelling
We pack each product using clean, food-safe materials that protect it during handling and transport. Every package is neatly labelled for easy identification, helping buyers receive produce that is well-organized, traceable, and ready for distribution.
Transport and Logistics
Our transport system moves produce quickly and safely from our facility to the market. Temperature-controlled handling ensures your products remain fresh throughout the journey, while organised logistics help deliveries reach customers on time.
Quality and Review
Our team carefully checks every batch of produce on arrival to confirm freshness, firmness, and overall condition before processing begins. This step helps remove damaged or unsuitable items early, ensuring that only high-quality fruits and vegetables continue through our handling system.
Technology We Use
Cold Chain Infrastructure
Two industrial cold rooms, each with capacity for a 40-ft container, keep produce fresh for export.
These cold rooms are engineered to maintain precise temperature and humidity levels, ensuring that fresh produce stays in its optimal condition from the moment it arrives at the packhouse. Their large capacity allows us to handle bulk consignments efficiently, reducing delays and preventing temperature fluctuations that can compromise quality. By holding produce at the right conditions immediately after pre-cooling, we preserve firmness, color, and shelf life, allowing exporters to meet international market standards with confidence.
Clean Processing Area
Dedicated sorting rooms meet hygiene and international safety standards for food handling
These rooms are specifically designed to maintain a controlled, clean environment where produce can be handled safely and efficiently. The layout, materials, and workflow all support strict hygiene protocols—minimizing contamination risks and ensuring every step aligns with global food-safety requirements. By keeping sorting activities in a dedicated space, we maintain product integrity, protect freshness, and guarantee that all produce leaving the packhouse meets the expectations of premium international markets.
Export-Grade Packaging
Biodegradable and traceable packaging systems ensure quality from farm to market
Our packaging solutions are designed with both sustainability and accountability in mind. Biodegradable materials reduce environmental impact by breaking down naturally after use, supporting eco-friendly practices throughout the supply chain. Meanwhile, traceability systems allow each package to be tracked from the farm to the final market, providing detailed information on origin, handling, and storage conditions. This ensures that every product reaches consumers in optimal condition while giving clients transparency and confidence in the integrity of their produce.
Sustainable Energy
The facility uses solar energy and backup systems to remain eco-friendly and reliable
Our solar-powered setup reduces dependence on the national grid and significantly lowers carbon emissions, making daily operations more sustainable. The system provides a steady source of clean energy for critical functions such as lighting, ventilation, and packhouse machinery. In addition, integrated backup power ensures uninterrupted performance even during periods of low sunlight or grid outages. This combination not only protects the environment but also guarantees consistent, dependable operation for all clients relying on our packhouse services.
Cast Facility
The Cast Facility is equipped to handle specialized processing and preparation tasks efficiently and safely. Designed with modern infrastructure, it allows for precise handling of produce while maintaining hygiene and quality standards. The layout supports streamlined workflows, reducing handling time and minimizing the risk of damage. This facility ensures that products are consistently prepared to meet both domestic and international market requirements, enhancing overall operational efficiency and reliability

FAQs
How does NuruSafe ensure the freshness and quality of produce during handling and storage?
At NuruSafe, we follow a strict cold-chain process from the moment produce arrives at our facility. Each batch is inspected, pre-cooled, and stored in temperature-controlled cold rooms designed to maintain optimal humidity and freshness. We also use traceable labeling systems to ensure quality is monitored at every stage until delivery.
Can exporters and farmers of different scales access NuruSafe’s packhouse services, or is it limited to large companies?
Our services are open to all — from individual smallholder farmers to large-scale exporters. NuruSafe was founded to close the post-harvest gap for every producer, regardless of size. We offer flexible service packages that make it affordable and practical for small farmers to use modern packing and storage facilities without heavy upfront costs.
What happens once fresh produce arrives at NuruSafe’s facility — what is the full process before it’s ready for market or export?
Upon arrival, produce is first weighed and recorded. Our trained team then sorts and grades it according to international standards. Each product type follows a defined handling path — washing, trimming, or packaging, depending on the crop — before being moved to cold storage rooms for preservation. This process guarantees consistent quality and shelf life, ready for local distribution or export shipment.
How does NuruSafe maintain food safety and hygiene standards during packaging and storage?
We operate under strict hygiene protocols following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards. Workers wear protective gear, packaging areas are sanitized daily, and all tools and crates are cleaned between uses. Our cold rooms maintain temperature logs, and we routinely audit every stage to ensure compliance with export-level standards.
Does NuruSafe offer customized packaging or branding for clients who want to export under their own label?
Yes. We understand that exporters often need unique packaging to match buyer or country requirements. NuruSafe provides customized packaging options — from box design and labeling to barcode or logo printing — so our clients can maintain brand identity while meeting international packaging regulations.
What are the benefits of using a packhouse like NuruSafe compared to storing produce at the farm?
Using a professional packhouse significantly reduces post-harvest losses and maintains the value of your produce. At the farm level, temperature fluctuations and delayed handling often cause premature spoilage. Our cold storage and grading systems ensure that your produce remains market-ready for longer, increasing both quality and selling price.
Can NuruSafe assist in connecting farmers or suppliers with buyers or exporters?
Yes. One of our goals is to bridge the gap between local farmers and national or international buyers. Through our network of partners and export contacts, we often help connect reliable suppliers with reputable exporters or distributors seeking quality produce.
What type of packaging materials does NuruSafe use to ensure produce remains safe and market-ready?
We use food-grade, export-approved packaging materials, including ventilated plastic crates, corrugated cartons, and moisture-resistant liners. These materials are chosen based on crop sensitivity and destination requirements. For clients exporting to Europe or the Middle East, we can also supply customized packaging with printed branding, barcodes, and traceability labels. All packaging complies with international phytosanitary and hygiene standards.
What measures does NuruSafe take in case of power interruptions or equipment failure?
We operate with a redundant cold chain system, including automatic power backup generators and temperature alert sensors. In the event of a power failure, backup systems activate instantly to prevent temperature rise. Our maintenance team conducts routine servicing and real-time performance checks on all refrigeration units, ensuring reliability and consistent preservation quality even under unforeseen conditions
